Nordic Conference on Financial Accounting 2010

Copenhagen Business School

November 25, 2010 – November 26, 2010

Dear Colleagues,

It is a great pleasure to invite you to attend the first ever Nordic Conference on Financial Accounting, which will be held at the Department of Accounting and Auditing at Copenhagen Business School. The purposes of the conference are to share research ideas as well as to establish a network among the Nordic researchers within financial accounting. It is the organizing committee's profound belief that by uniting our expertise we will be able to:

  • Produce better research
  • Increase productivity
  • Establish better PhD programs
  • Attract more PhD students
  • Build a better reputation in the research community
  • Provide teaching resources across borders
  • Publish a Nordic Accounting Journal
  • Increase external funding

For these reasons we encourage Nordic accounting researchers (working both in and outside the Nordic countries) to join the conference. Practitioners with an interest in accounting research are also encouraged to attend. We hope that this conference will become an event where we meet on a regular basis.

You can register for the conference on this website. If you intend to present a paper at the conference, please follow the link in the menu to the left of this page.  All submitted abstracts/papers will undergo a blind peer review with respect to significance and scientific quality. Doctoral students are encouraged to present papers at the conference, and we intend to have a 'doctoral track'. Furthermore, the keynote speaker will give a special talk to the doctoral students attending the conference about pursuing a career within accounting research.

To encourage as many as possible to participate in the conference the fee is only DKK 500 and free for doctoral students. All extra costs are covered by the organizing partners through internal funding and sponsorships. As a further motivation for Doctoral students to participate, Nordiska Företagsekonomiska Föreningen (NFF) reimburses travel and accommodation expenses of up to 270 euro (by voucher) for students from institutions which are members of NFF. This implies that doctoral students from NFF member institutions can attend the conference with zero or only minor costs.

Please register as participant by following the link (Registration) in the menu to the left of this page.

Please Submit an abstract or paper for presentation by following the link (proposal submission) to the left of this page
